Custom step and repeat backdrops for events

A step and repeat is the backdrop that appears in every photo from your event, and we make it to order in PVC banner, tensioned fabric or cardboard. Tell us the size, date and logo, and within 24 working hours you have a quote and a mock-up.

Always a matt finish

Most photos are taken with flash or under strong venue lighting. A glossy surface throws a white glare across the logo; matt PVC banner and polyester fabric do not reflect.

Size to suit the photo

3 × 2.3 m is the usual size for four or five people standing in a row. The usable height should not drop below 2.3 m, so the wall does not show above people's heads.

Logo in a repeat pattern

Repeated every 15-25 cm, the logo stays readable even when people cover part of the backdrop. One giant logo in the middle disappears behind the first person who poses.

Where to set it up and who it suits

The clear uses are the entrance to a conference or annual meeting, the exhibition stand and the company party. If you run several events a year, the tubular frame and the tensioned fabric profile can be stored away, and for the next campaign only the new banner or fabric needs printing.

Avoid setting it up in front of a window: with backlighting, faces come out dark and the backdrop loses colour. At 2 × 2.5 m you cover portraits of two or three people, and from 4 m wide you are into group photos and award presentations.

Material, printing and logo placement

We always work in a matt finish: the 440-510 g/m² PVC banner goes on an aluminium tubular frame and is printed in latex or UV; the 210-260 g/m² polyester fabric is dye-sublimated in full colour and tensioned in an aluminium profile with a silicone keder. For a one-day event, there is 10-16 mm honeycomb cardboard, recyclable, with direct printing.

The logo works best as a repeat pattern every 15-25 cm, so that any crop of the photo shows one or two complete logos. Send it as a vector file (SVG, AI or PDF). If the venue requires certified fire-retardant material, tell us when you request the quote.

How to choose your step and repeat

Tubular frame with banner
25-32 mm aluminium frame and matt PVC banner with eyelets, in 2 × 2.5 m or 3 × 2.3 m. For trade shows and events that recur: keep the frame and change only the banner.
Tensioned fabric
Dye-sublimated polyester fabric in a 30-40 mm aluminium profile, in 3 × 2.3 m with a carry bag. Two people can put it up without tools, ideal for touring several venues.
Honeycomb cardboard
Freestanding 2 × 2 m modules in 10-16 mm honeycomb cardboard. For openings, one-day events and street activations; it can be recycled afterwards.
Pop-up, inflatable or selfie frame
The curved pop-up or the inflatable, in 3 × 2.3 m and 4 × 2.5 m, work as scenery on large stands. The selfie frame, around 60 × 80 cm, complements the backdrop and brings the brand into the shot.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about step and repeat

If yours is not here, write to us. People answer, not an automatic form.

What size step and repeat do I need for a group photo?

For four or five people in a row, 3 × 2.3 m is the usual size. For portraits of two or three, 2 × 2.5 m is enough, and for group photos or award presentations you should go to 4 m wide or more.

Which is better for a step and repeat, banner or fabric?

PVC banner on a tubular frame is sturdy and lets you change just the graphic from one event to the next. Tensioned fabric is lighter, does not crease or glare, and two people can put it up without tools. For a one-day event, honeycomb cardboard is the light, recyclable option.

Why does a step and repeat have to be matt?

Because most photos are taken with flash or under strong venue lighting, and a glossy surface bounces that light back onto the logo. Matt banner and polyester fabric do not reflect, so the logo reads clearly in the photo.

How should the logo be laid out on a step and repeat?

The usual approach is a repeat pattern with the logo every 15-25 cm, sometimes alternated with a sponsor's logo or the event name. If you prefer an atmospheric image with the logo in a corner, place it at head height, never at the bottom.

Can the frame be reused at another event?

Yes, and that is the usual approach when you run several events a year. The tubular frame and the tensioned fabric profile can be stored, and for the next event you only print the new banner or fabric at the same size.
