A plaque is read up close and kept for years

A lot of merchandise is used for a few months and then disappears. Commemorative plaques are different: they are hung on a wall or placed on a desk, and they are still there years later. That changes the design priorities. The logo is engraved, not applied on a vinyl that can peel off; the text is laid out with generous margins and a clear hierarchy (occasion, name, date); and the material is chosen for how it ages. Acrylic can yellow in direct sunlight and glass will not; solid wood develops a patina, while anodised aluminium stays the same.

The other detail people underestimate is the wording. A plaque with a typo cannot be corrected: it has to be made again. That is why the mock-up includes the final name and date for each unit, and you check it before production starts. Very fine lines in a logo tend to fill in when engraved; if needed, we will suggest a simplified version.

What we need from you for the quote

These plaques are not listed in the online catalogue: they are made from your specifications. With this information, we prepare the quote and mock-up:

• Quantity and how many different versions you need. The minimum quantity depends on the mould or die and we will confirm it with the quote, and each plaque can carry different text.
• Material, size and mounting: desk stand, wall stand-offs or a presentation box for handing it over in person.
• Final texts for each plaque in a list: occasion, name, job title, date and dedication.
• Location: whether it will go on a wall or a desk and whether it will be in direct sunlight, so we can choose a material that ages well.
• Date of the event or opening.
• Logo in vector format (SVG, AI or PDF): the laser follows lines, not pixels. If you only have PNG or JPG, we will review it and tell you whether it will work.

   Within 24 working hours, we send you the quote and a free mock-up of the layout on the chosen material.

   Review and payment

   You check every text letter by letter; nothing goes into production until you approve it. You pay at that point, before production starts.

   Production and delivery

   The usual lead time is two or three weeks from approval; glass and photo-engraved metal can take a little longer. Each plaque travels protected. We ship with tracking to one address or split across several sites, throughout the EU.

The most common reasons are company anniversaries, retirements, office or plant openings and awards at a convention. They are also used to thank suppliers, distributors or sponsors for their work.
