The pen for large-volume giveaways

Printed pens in plastic are lightweight, made in many colours and suitable for almost every printing method. That is why they are the option companies choose when they need to reach a lot of people: on a conference table, at a stand, in training materials or on reception. For those uses, you do not need a luxury item, but one that writes properly straight away and that people will actually keep in a pocket.

The most common plastic in pens is ABS, which is rigid and impact-resistant; polycarbonate is used mainly for clear barrels. More and more models are now made from recycled ABS or polycarbonate, and the product page shows this. Printing methods for plastic pens

The price on each product page includes your logo in one colour in the standard print area, usually the barrel or the clip. More colours, another technique or a second position are adjusted in the quote.

How many to order and how to hand them out

• Trade shows and conferences. Allow one per expected visitor, plus a margin to restock the table: at a stand, the pen disappears before any brochure. For more stand ideas, see event merchandise.
• Office and reception. Pens in meeting rooms and on the front desk need replacing several times a year. It usually makes sense to order a run that covers several months, because the unit price drops as quantity goes up.
• Training. One per participant, together with a custom printed notebook with the same logo.
• Several colours. If you want to hand out the same model in two or three barrel colours, add the quantity for each one in the quote request and we will tell you how that works with the minimum per item.
• Ink. Blue or black, depending on the model. If you are unsure, black is easier to read on photocopies and scanned documents.

Typical mistakes with plastic promotional pens

• Printing the logo in the same shade as the barrel: a red logo on a red pen cannot be seen. Look for contrast, or use the grip colour as an accent.
• Asking for full-colour printing on a dark barrel. Digital printing looks best on light backgrounds; on black or navy, a light solid ink works better.
• Trying to fit the website, slogan and phone number into an area of a few millimetres. Choose one thing only: the logo or the website.
• Deciding from the photo alone. A push button that sticks or ink that skips sends the pen to the bin, and your logo with it. If the run is large, ask for a sample first.
• Giving the same pen to trade show visitors and key clients. If someone deserves something better, take a look at engraved metal pens.

Order and lead times

Each model can be ordered from 10 units per item, with a minimum order of CZK 2,444 per quote, excluding VAT and delivery. We send you a free mock-up with your logo on the pen at actual scale, you pay when you approve it, and production usually takes two or three weeks depending on the method and the quantity. Delivery is tracked to one address or to several sites across the European Union.

If the pens are for an event on a fixed date, place the order with enough time for approval, production and transport. Metal, bamboo or premium models are in custom printed pens, and if your campaign follows a more sustainable line, in eco-friendly merchandise you will find items to go with them.
